Standing at the edge of the tracks between two staircases bringing the masses up and down from the lowest level, I wait for the L train to rescue me from an auditory assault.
To my right is a deep guttural voice moaning here and there among bass slaps and a poorly placed electric drum kit; while to my left is an almost vaudeville circus sounding act I would only expect to hear in the crowded streets of modern Cairo or perhaps a theater in Paris. I am headed to the East Village area for a cheap spa day at a Russian Turkish Bathhouse. Yes. This is New York City. Anything goes.

Cavewoman Stew
Cavewoman Stew

a paleo vegan comfort soup
In response to a rising concern that I may be harboring stowaways from India, I've decided to take those foreign scalawags out the old fashioned way: nutrition and herbs (she's a witch!) In addition to a bitter tonic of wormwood, black walnut hull and clove, I have readjusted my entire daily diet. No meat (only eggs), no grains (except rice), no processed dairy (cultured is good), no refined oils (so only raw coconut oil and EVOO allowed) no refined sugars (I'm not giving up chocolate), no alcohol (gin is a medicine and red wine is good for the heart and... Ok..) I am not as rigid on the diet as I probably should be but I'm confident that with a little energy work and some yoga therapy I can heal myself. Thank you to the millions of blogs and web resources I have scoured in the past few days. The vertigo is gone and I'm ready to feel optimal, amazing and energetic like a free, healthy, intelligent 29 year old woman can and should feel!!
carrot, celery, onion, garlic, turnip, parsnip, cabbage, maitake mushroom ("hen of the woods"), cauliflower, sea salt, paprika, black pepper, cayenne, loads of fresh thyme and garnished with fresh parsley
This stew is a hearty, warming dish with a power punch in the gut. Arg! Walk the plank belly bugs!

Secondary test post
Posting from my iPhone now. I have spent at least 4-5 hours searching for a blog app that will allow me to write and save a draft first before publishing. Let's see what happens here. Sigh.
Ok sweet! It lets me save a draft then edit! I'll add a photo just for that!
And publishing to see how this turns out....

Hello! Test post...
Test posting from my mini laptop. I am about to smash the keyboard but I'm practicing deep breathing instead. Whew.
